With 585,581 Silverados sold last year, it is one of the top selling trucks in the US. This gives us high hopes for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and the features they will have.
With all of the different trim options, you are sure to find a truck that is perfect for your needs. Let’s get started taking an in-depth look at the new Silverado.
When it comes to powering the Silverado, owners have the option of choosing either a V6 or V8. The 4. liter V6 can produce 285 horsepower and 305 pounds of torque.
The 6.2 liter V8 engine option pumps out 420 horsepower and produces 460 pounds of torque.
Three different transmissions come in the Silverado. The basic being a 6-speed automatic. A step up would be the 8-speed automatic with a manual shifting mode. The third option is the 10-speed automatic with a manual shifting mode.
The engine and transmission combination you choose will dictate what fuel economy you get out of your truck. The city/highway miles per gallon fuel economy rating you will get could be 17/22, 16/19, or 20/26.
Depending on the model you buy, your Silverado can tow anywhere from 13,000 to 14,500 pounds.
Once you do the steep climb into the Silverado’s cab, you’ll find the interior to be everything you need. Chevy stays true to their truck roots with an old-school style gear selector on the steering column.
The seats are beautiful cloth and have two-way lumbar support. Plus the backseat is enormous. Passengers in the back seat will have plenty of room to stretch out.
For a truck that is most often used as a work truck, you may not expect it to have the latest technology. But this is where the Silverado will surprise you.
Your family will love that it comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is even an infotainment system with a screen display.
Another nice feature is the ability to open all of the windows with your key fob. This will be handy on those hot days when you want to start airing out the truck before you get in it.
For more button controls, the liftgate can also be lowered with the touch of a button.
When it comes to safety, the Silverado has plenty of features to keep your family and your employees safe. For starters, there are dual-stage airbags and seat-mounted side impact airbags for the front seats.
There is a rearview camera that comes standard on specific models. Plus HD surround vision is available.
For certain models park assist, rear cross traffic, lane change alert, and blind zone alert are available. The LTZ and High Country model takes safety to the next level with forward collision alert, low-speed automatic braking, pedestrian alert, automatic headlights, and following distance indicator.
There are eight different trim editions of the Silverado. There is sure to be one to fit your needs.
