Jeanne Tyler dedicated her life to civic, health care, and animal welfare organizations serving on numerous boards.
She donated the lead gift for what is now the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center, which was named after her, and she was a long-time board member of the historical society. She served as that board's president for a total of 12 years.
Stambaugh Auditorium's grand ballroom also bears her name after her gift and work on the capital campaign to restore the building.
Tyler was also a direct descendant of Revolutionary War veteran John Struthers, for which the town is named after.
